Session Start: Thu Apr 14 00:00:00 2011
Session Ident: #glitchpc
[00:00] * Now talking in #glitchpc
[00:00] * Topic is 'Welcome to #glitchpc chat. Profanity, trolls, and impersonation are not welcome here. Street1 has become a Silent Keyboard. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/savannah/obituary.aspx?page=lifestory&pid=139870551'
[00:00] * Set by jacky on Tue Mar 02 11:03:23
[00:29]<+Craig> ... dun dun dun... BC... I think the new new map may have destroyed your home... ?
[00:30]<+Craig> Nope, it was Mulreay's ship... :S
[02:08]<@BC_Programming> dealing with threading and deadlocks is not fun
[02:09]<@BC_Programming> for some reason baseblock works fine for the first level, but the second one just get's stuck at the level intro...
[02:10]<@BC_Programming> turned out I had changed a single method call which ended up making the GameProc() thread terminate itself, which meant that all that was left was the sound thread managed by NBASS and the main thread which basically just painted the intro...
[02:11]<@BC_Programming> fixed now, anyway... working on a new "feature" so that when the game is unpaused the balls show a little countdown before they actually continue moving, so the player can get ready
[04:03] * camerongray (camerongra@7AE9433A.47D9D174.2CE956DE.IP) has joined #glitchpc

[08:32]<+camerongray> Woo, finished my Minecraft Binary adder
[08:32]<@BC_Programming> cool
[08:33]<+camerongray> Craig said that he'll add it to the server
[08:46]<+camerongray> Craig: You there?
[08:57]<+camerongray> It only took like 7 hours
[08:58]<+camerongray> Now my doorbell looks pathetic
[09:04] * Craig-remote (Craig-remo@8303FF5C.6C05DBEE.3FDF97B6.IP) has joined #glitchpc
[09:04]<@BC_Programming> just watched sneakers
[09:04]<@BC_Programming> pretty good movie

[09:20]<Craig-remote> Hey Jacky, and BC, and Cameron, and Mulreay,
[09:21]<@jacky> Hello Craig, and remote
[09:21]<@jacky> <g>
[09:21]<Craig-remote> :P
[09:21]<Craig-remote> I Can talk as craig as well, :P
[09:22]<+Craig> It just takes more work....
[09:22]<@BC_Programming> VisualSVN rules
[09:22]<Craig-remote> Versioning?
[09:22]<@BC_Programming> Source control
[09:23]<Craig-remote> Ahh
[09:23]<Craig-remote> So what are you up to today BC?
[09:23]<Craig-remote> Think we should make another dungeon? (The last one was kinda a letdown,
[09:23]<Craig-remote> Nothing good inside that I found.
[09:23]<@BC_Programming> well I found cookies and iron and stuff
[09:24]<Craig-remote> Hehehe, yeah
[09:24]<Craig-remote> The first test dungeon I made gave me 10 Diamond at the end
[09:24]<@BC_Programming> but I was expecting like a room deep down full of treasures and a crapload of mob spawners or something
[09:24]<Craig-remote> I can change the conf to make more spawners.
[09:24]<Craig-remote> :)
[09:25]<@BC_Programming> heh yeah do that! :P can you put a few somewhat far from our village?
[09:25]<Craig-remote> Why do you want a few somewhat far from the village?
[09:25]<@BC_Programming> so it doesn't interfere with anything we've already built
[09:26]<Craig-remote> ahh
[09:26]<Craig-remote> But its never night on the map, so they wont be used?
[09:26]<@BC_Programming> huh?
[09:26]<Craig-remote> On the World map its always day,
[09:26]<Craig-remote> or are you talking about me manually placing them in the caves?
[09:26]<@BC_Programming> yeah I know, that's why I've been spending more time in the desert worlds
[09:27]<@BC_Programming> what? no? you placed that last dungeon fine. what does it being night have to do with anything ???
[09:27]<@BC_Programming> or, not being night, I should say
[09:27]<Craig-remote> Ooooh, you mean you want more in the dungeons thats all?
[09:28]<Craig-remote> You want a FEW DUNGEONS, not more spawners?
[09:28]<Craig-remote> right?
[09:28]<@BC_Programming> yes yes
[09:28]<Craig-remote> Ahhhh
[09:28]<Craig-remote> Well, I cant control how to place the dungeons, its kinda random... :S
[09:28]<@BC_Programming> weak
[09:29]<@BC_Programming> seems to center around the spawn though, what with that first one being on the hill and the second one near the boat
[09:31]<+camerongray> Oh hey Craig
[09:31]<+camerongray> and jacky
[09:31]<Craig-remote> I can move them farther away in the conf,
[09:31]<Craig-remote> but its a variable, from (chunks) to (chunks)
[09:31]<@jacky> camerongray: Howdy
[09:31]<Craig-remote> Hey Cam
[09:31]<@BC_Programming> cool, and if it's random there is a element of exploration too
[09:32]<+camerongray> Craig: Do you want the map for the adder?
[09:39]<Craig-remote> Adder?
[09:39]<+camerongray> My Binary Adder
[09:39]<+camerongray> Oh - I finished it
[09:39]<Craig-remote> What are you talking about?
[09:39]<@BC_Programming> camerongray, you'll have to use laymens terms
[09:39]<Craig-remote> Ohhhhh!
[09:39]<Craig-remote> :P
[09:39]<+camerongray> lol
[09:39]<Craig-remote> I forgot about the calculator.
[09:39]<Craig-remote> :P
[09:40]<@BC_Programming> Craig: camerongray made a thingy that does 1+1 with redstone
[09:40]<+camerongray> lol
[09:40]<@BC_Programming> but it equals 10! Crazy!
[09:40]<+camerongray> No - 1+1 is 11 :P
[09:40]<@BC_Programming> 1+1 in binary is 10
[09:41]<+camerongray> Oh yeh ;P
[09:41]<+camerongray> The thing is HUGE
[09:44]<@BC_Programming> heh... cool, lightning hitting a pig will turn it into a zombie pigman
[09:44]<+camerongray> Oh in 1.5
[09:45]<+camerongray> Better not break redstone :P
[09:45]<@BC_Programming> why would it break redstone?
[09:46]<+camerongray> Water/lightning + sort of electricity
[09:48]<+camerongray> Any ideas when beta 1.5 comes out?
[09:48]<@BC_Programming> next week probably
[09:49]<Craig-remote> I dont know how epic that is going to be?
[09:50]<@BC_Programming> well let's see
[09:50]<@BC_Programming> weather, acheiv... actually, just watch the video
[09:51]<@BC_Programming> demonstrates it pretty well
[09:52]<Craig-remote> hahaha, I saw the info... what I mean is that I dont think the additions will be as epic as Aether.
[09:53]<@BC_Programming> mods are different
[09:53]<@BC_Programming> I wonder if weather will work there
[09:55]<Craig-remote> The new Dungeon should be an 8x8 by 6deep
[09:56]<@BC_Programming> cool
[09:59]<+camerongray> Cool
[10:00]<+camerongray> Craig: Do you want me to send you the save of the Binary Adder map?
[10:04]<Craig-remote> I am not at home right now,
[10:04]<+camerongray> kk - Let me know when you are
[10:04]<Craig-remote> so post it online or something, or wait till sunday, :)
[10:04]<+camerongray> kk

[10:20]<Craig-remote> Can someone log into the secondary server at 25560 and let me tp to them
[10:20]<+camerongray> kk
[10:21]<+camerongray> In
[10:26]<Craig-remote> I think that one will be more than challenging enough for BC, :)
[10:27]<+camerongray> lol
[10:27]<@BC_Programming> even for somebody who punches ghasts to death with his bare fists?
[10:27]<Craig-remote> Yeah, I upped the number of creeper spawners, and also the general number of spawners.
[10:28]<Craig-remote> I also increased the number of chests.
[10:28]<@BC_Programming> heehee
[10:28]<Craig-remote> Changing also the number of types of rooms, and halls,
[10:28]<Craig-remote> its an 8x8 dungeon, 6 levels deeps.
[10:30]<Craig-remote> Ok, its now live.
[10:30]<Craig-remote> Dont die too many times BC... :P
[10:30]<@BC_Programming> heh
[10:31]<+camerongray> lol
[10:50]<Tux2> lol
[10:51]<Tux2> Craig-remote, what program do you use to generate the maps?
[10:58]<Tux2> not the maps that you put on the website, but the custom world maps
[11:07]<+camerongray> grrrrr: http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=30052
[11:11]<Craig-remote> Many different tools, depends on which map your referring to?
[11:15]<Tux2> oh, the map generator you were just using... unless you just generated a map then used mcedit
[11:15]<@BC_Programming> tectonicus I think
[11:16]<@BC_Programming> ?
[11:28]<Tux2> Thats to show the maps, I was talking about a world generator...
[11:29]<Tux2> lol, should have said world in the first place...

[23:36]<Tux2> Hey BC_Programming, can I rant about how I hate apple and the iPad in here?
[23:36]<@BC_Programming> of course
[23:36]<@BC_Programming> mostly because I generally agree
[23:38]<Tux2> this stupid piece of <censored> needs a computer that it has synced with itunes with just to unlock itself after it has been disabled... I never hook up my iPad to my computer, my backups are gone... and now I can't ever get my stupid files off that thing because I have to do a shitty wipe/reload of the OS, which erases everything, including all the time I spend getting it jailbroken, and my apps, etc...
[23:39]<Tux2> there, first and last time...
[23:39]<@BC_Programming> now you know why I refuse to buy apple products since the advent of OSX
[23:39]<Tux2> It really is a Ship High In Transit, ready to blow up at the slightest touch...
[23:40]<@BC_Programming> you want an iPhone/iPad/iMat/iPod/iWhatever, you need to use iTunes
[23:40]<Tux2> lol, I hated apple products before, now I don't even want to touch them now...
[23:40]<@BC_Programming> which means you <REQUIRE> either windows or mac; I mean, I use windows predominantly but being forced to use one or the other to use a piece of hardware that should work fine on it's own is just stupid
[23:41]<@BC_Programming> my MP3 player works fine in all Operating Systems I've tried; because, you know, it identifies itself as an MP3 player
[23:41]<@BC_Programming> but no... the iPod "isn't just a MP3 Player it's a revolution" or some other bull
[23:41]<Tux2> yeah, on my android It's been disabled before, all you have to do is type in your google password and you are in...
[23:41]<@BC_Programming> so naturally they can't just have it identify itself as some clandestine MP3 player! NO! it needs it's own special interface software
[23:42]<@BC_Programming> seriously the last time hardware that required very specific software to use was generally accepted was back in the very early 90's when it was commonplace
[23:42]<Tux2> no stupid, "connect this piece of equipment up to the computer you last synced it with, which is probably already in the trash somewhere to unlock it... If you don't, then say goodbye to your data..."
[23:43]<@BC_Programming> and the iPad... just seems kind of pointless. I mean, it seems like it's supposed to be a tablet PC, but you need a PC to do anything useful with it to begin with
[23:43]<Tux2> Um, yeah...
[23:43]<@BC_Programming> it's basically just a very expensive eBook reader
[23:43]<@BC_Programming> but it has a capacitive touchscreen, so it's a slick eBook reader!
[23:44]<Tux2> I am going to ask my boss if I can anything BUT an iPad 2, instead of the iPad 2 he really wants me to have...
[23:44]<Tux2> can get*
[23:45]<@BC_Programming> why does he want you to have an iPad 2
[23:45]<Tux2> because, from the beginning I've really wanted an android touchscreen tablet
[23:46]<Tux2> He's an apple fan and he likes giving me and my boss something nice to play with.
[23:46]<@BC_Programming> ahh, and he's bought into the idea that somehow the iPad is better
[23:47]<Tux2> I bet I can get a really nice android tablet for a lot less than the basic model of the iPad 2
[23:47]<@BC_Programming> I would as well
[23:48]<@BC_Programming> Somehow Apple has even changed history, I once heard somebody say that Apple was great because they made the first MP3 player
[23:48]<Tux2> lol...
[23:48]<@BC_Programming> No they didn't! Not by a freaking longshot
[23:48]<Tux2> they just made something that people noticed...
[23:49]<@BC_Programming> they were the first to appeal to people's vanity using tech devices
[23:49]<Tux2> yeah, exactly
[23:50]<Tux2> all I wanted to do tonight was get into bed with it and watch a tv show on it... not go through a 2 hour restore proccess...
[23:50]<@BC_Programming> I use my laptop for movies and stuff :P
[23:50]<@BC_Programming> I tried to use my Mp3 player but the screen is just too small
[23:50]<Tux2> well, a laptop gets kind of hot in a bed...
[23:51]<Tux2> and I am going to be streaming it off the web...
[23:51]<Tux2> lol, if I planned ahead i would have just downloaded it and converted it for my MP3 player...
[23:52]<@BC_Programming> I'm simply amazed though at the market penetration Apple has achieved with overpriced, under-capable products that are purposely limited for no good reason at all
[23:52]<Tux2> The only real reason I have a password on the device in the first place is so that my brothers and sisters don't get into it when mom doesn't want them too...
[23:53]<Tux2> no more ipad for them... it's going into a locked case, with a key lock...
[23:55]<Tux2> Unless one of my brothers takes up picklocking, it will be safe....
[23:55]<Tux2> brb, going into windows to start the restore process....
[23:56]<@BC_Programming> good luck
[23:56]<Tux2> lol, yeah... hopefully I have the backups of the iPad in the backups of the other computer...
[23:57] * Tux2 (Tux2@mib-3DFAE8CE.hlrn.qwest.net) Quit (Quit: If your computer breaks, don't blame me. I just walked away....)
